Kris Vassilev has been in the architectural business for over 25 years, including 11 years as OAA licensed architect. He has built his expertise through the practice of architecture at some of the most recognized architectural and urban design firms in Canada, through the management of large complex projects and construction sites, as well as through academic excellence in completing a Doctoral Program in Architecture in the field of sustainable development. Kris led projects totaling over $1 billion in construction value and his portfolio includes projects in North America, Europe, Asia, South America and Africa.

Kris's collaboration with WGD started in 2001 when he worked on various hospitality, community and recreation projects, including the Georgina Community Complex and Sheraton Parkway Hotel Addition in Richmond Hill, Ontario, and provided technical audit for 43 City of Toronto recreation and cultural facilities. In 2013 he reunited with the firm in a senior role and has been leading the design and production for community, residential and judicial projects, including William Thomas Building in Hamilton, Leaside Memorial Community Gardens in Toronto, Mastercard Hockey Centre Renovation in Toronto, Headingley Correctional Centre in Manitoba and the London Ice Sport Addition in London, Ontario.
