The interior of the 30-year old former Sears store was completely gutted to accommodate the Guelph Community Health Centre which comprised clinic, community health, midwifery, infant development, naturopath, examination rooms, resource centre, meeting/counselling rooms, community program rooms, administration offices, teaching kitchen and a day care centre. A central 3-storey atrium was created to bring natural light to enliven the building volume of large floor plate.
Received GUELPH ARTS COUNCIL HERITAGE AWARD 2002.
