Renovations were sought out to up-flag the 587 room property to the Intercontinental brand. The $27 million project included extensive renovations to the entrances, lobby, restaurants, meeting rooms and guest rooms. As part of the Toronto Convention Centre Complex, the hotel and entrance in particular suffered from a clear identity. The solution was to reorient the main doors to address the street and to create a formal entrance arch and stylized canopy to clearly demark the hotel entrance.
