WGD was engaged to refresh the interior finishes of two Ministry of Education Branches at 900 Bay Street, Mowat Block in Toronto. All interior wall and floor finishes were replaced with new, on an accelarated schedule in order to minimize the amount of time the staff was required to remain in nearby swing space. In an effort to minimize the environmental impact and product wastage, a complex refinishing of existing systems furnishings was undertaken to replace the vertical fabric panels, whilst maintaining the existing panel frames and internal components, existing work-surfaces and existing storage. New soft seating, break out spaces, and chalkboards where added throughout the space to encourage staff collaboration.The result was a bright and colourful space, well-suited to the branches mandates.
